Profol processes polypropylene, a fully recyclable thermoplastic material. PVCfree, heavy metal free, document proof, it meets toy safety standards and is approved for food contact.
Todays typical flexible packaging solutions are multilayer structures made of different materials such as paper, plastic and aluminum. These structures are hard to separate and difficult to reuse. Packaging made of several different polymers is inseparable and cannot be reused due to the different chemical and physical properties.
The classic example is the yogurt cup with a bottom part made of plastic and a lid made of aluminum foil. Cleanly separated, the two materials can be recycled. However, 70% of users do not separate them. And the small amount of aluminum on the rim of the cup destroys its ability to be recycled.
At Profol, we have been addressing this issue for years and have developed solutions for many applications, requirements and markets. And if the need arises, we can utilize a BOPP or oxygen barrier layer to make the overall concept functional and successful.
The basis of the solution is always the same: the variety of PP already in the design of the packaging, furniture parts, caravan walls or the LVT/design flooring will surpass expectations when implemented with the products and know-how from Profol.
